Lawrence W. ‘Larry’ Dzurilla, 74 years of Uniontown, Pa. passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017. He was born August 11, 1942 in Uniontown.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Michael and Sophia (Hostinski) Dzurilla, a sister, Catherine Snyder and two brothers, Joseph and Michael Dzurilla.

Larry was a graduate of North Union High School Class of 1961 and a member of St. Mary Nativity Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order and a devout Catholic and member of FCSLA.

Larry was a Trustee of the South Union Volunteer Fire Company for over 40 years.

Despite his physical challenges he led a productive life filled with hope and faith.

He enjoyed classic car shows and especially muscle cars. Larry was the proud owner of a classic green GTO which was his pride and joy.

He enjoyed watching Steeler games with his good friend Marty Reagan and having breakfast each morning at Eat N Park with another good friend Joseph Kukan.

Surviving are two sisters, Mary Torrey of Poland, Maine and Frances V. Prah of Uniontown and many nieces and nephews and good friends.

Friends will be received in the SHELL FUNERAL HOME, INC. 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave. Uniontown, Pa. today from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Nativity Roman Catholic Church, North Mt. Vernon Ave. with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Parish Wake Service will be held at 6:30 this evening followed by visitation of the South Union Volunteer Fire Department at 7:30 p.m.

The family appreciates the loving care provided over the years by Dr. Phillip Reilly and the comfort and care by Nurse Becky.
