Man arrested for burglarizing Brownsville home with child inside

A man was arrested for allegedly breaking into a Brownsville house through a window in a room where a 10-year-old girl was sleeping at 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
Josh Lee Huston, 35, of 810 Monongahela Street in LaBelle, is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, robbery, theft and loitering and prowling at nighttime.
Misty Rivera, 35, awoke to hear her dog barking and saw Huston, the father of two of her children, on the back steps at her David Street home. She called out to him, saying to leave her alone and get away from her house, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case.
She saw him leave, and then became startled by a crashing sound as he allegedly smashed a window directly behind the couch where their daughter was sleeping. Rivera called 911 and tried to move the girl, who was screaming in fear, away from Huston and the broken glass, court documents said.
He allegedly jumped on Rivera and the girl, yelling that “he couldn’t believe she was calling the police to report him again,” court paperwork said. He allegedly fled the scene with her phone.
Police were dispatched after receiving a 911 hangup call from the address.
Rivera had permitted Huston to visit the children at her home. She has had sole custody of the children since birth, court documents indicate.
He is lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $25,000 bond set by on-call Magisterial District Judge Wendy Dennis.
