Police: Man hit 3 people with his car in Farmington
A man was charged by state police after he allegedly hit three people and two vehicles with his car outside a Farmington house.
Ernest Anthony Riggins Jr., 27, of New Salem is charged with three counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and criminal mischief.
According to the criminal complaint, he was asked to leave a Skyline Drive house Sunday night because of his behavior. He punched the garage and got into his vehicle, spinning tires to leave, police said.
He allegedly hit Dillon Jordan with the car, knocking him to the ground. Jordan was treated at Uniontown Hospital for a cut to his hand that required six stitches to close.
Riggins allegedly hit a vehicle parked in the driveway, two other vehicles and a tree. He allegedly hit Katerana Shaw as he accelerated in the driveway and fishtailed. Evan Struhar was also hit when he tried to pull Riggins from the car through the window, according to the complaint.
Police said Riggins was found at his 1st Street residence with damage to his car consistent with the witness accounts.
He was arraigned this week on a $25,000 bond and released after posting real estate as bail, according to court paperwork.
Riggins faces a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
