A child of Fairchance has died. Catherine (Morgan) McConkie, known to all as Kitty, was born in her grandparents; house in Fairchance, Pa., on November 25, 1928. She died July 28, 2017 in Santa Clarita, CA. She was the daughter of Charles and Catherine (Pluto) Morgan. Along with her parents and sister Betty, she moved to Uniontown, Pa., in grade school, then to Detroit in high school. Kitty was proud of her courage. In eighth grade she and Evelyn Wood shaved their legs with a straight razor. Kitty went on to become a rabble-rouser as an adult. She was passionate, restless, competent, principled and resilient. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard.

She is survived by 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 8 greatgrandchildren
