Fred Swords
Fred Swords, age 90, of New Salem, Pa., passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 in Hillside Manor.
He was born in West Brownsville, Pa., on December 2, 1926 son of the late Alex Swords and Sarah Morehouse Swords
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gregg Swords, and 12 siblings.
Fred was a member of the Pleasant View Presbyterian Church.
He worked as a Truck Mechanic for Fox Grocery.
Left to cherish Fred’s memory are his wife of 63 years, Jane (Chalfant) Swords; daughter, Cindy Menarcheck and husband Jerry of Smock, Pa.; son, Timothy Swords and wife Tracy of Austria; grandchildren: Scott Menarcheck, Ross Menarcheck, Meggie Menarcheck and fianc* Josh Davis, Hannah Swords, Alexander Swords, and Lily Swords; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pennsylvania
A Private Service for the family will be held today, Monday, October 2 2017 with the Reverend Steve Davis officiating.
Interment will follow in Pleasant View Presbyterian Cemetery.
The family extends a thank you to Hillside Manor, ViaQuest Hospice and Fayette Home Care for their care of Fred.
