Richard Lawrence Dillon Sr.
Richard Lawrence Dillon Sr., 79, of Brownsville, Pa., passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at his home.
He was born on September 23, 1938 in Connellsville, Pa., the son of the late James and Olive (Shaffer) Dillon.
Richard was a Biology teacher for 42 years at California High School and also owned a home building business, RL Dillon and Sons.
As a member of Grace United Methodist Church he was a Lay Leader for approximately 40 years and organized and led the Easter Sunrise Service for more than 20 years.
He also held many evangelist services in local churches.
Richard also organized and sponsored Teens for Christ at California High School for many years.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Sheila (Pervoy) Dillon; sons: David Dillon and wife Tracy of Washington Pa., Donald Dillon and wife Renee of Uniontown, Pa., Richard Dillon Jr. of Blainesburg, Pa.; sisters: Arleen Linderman, JoAnn Spence, Doris Beatty and Shirley Rosenburger; and nine grandchildren: Brenna, Sara, Emily, Tyler, Donald, Danny, Tanner, Jeremy and Jordan.
Friends will be received in NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa., today, Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 2 to 8 p.m.
Visitation will continue on Thursday, October 5, 2017 in GRACE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, COAL CENTER, Pa., from 10 to 11 a.m. where the Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Pastor Ken Custer will officiate.
Interment will follow in Maple Creek Cemetery, Charleroi, Pa.
