Pastor Martin J. Anker
Reverend Martin J. Anker, 78, of Farmington Pa., was called to heaven on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 after a battle with cancer that he won!
He was born March 2, 1939 to the late Joseph Martin Anker and Virginia Mae (Watson) Anker.
He was known, loved and well respected by many of whom he pastored, married, taught or counseled.
He was an Entrepreneur of the Quiet House B&B and Five Pines Camping, Farmington, Pa.
He served his country in the United States Navy.
He loved worship God and music. He lived his life for Jesus Christ.
His happy place was his home in the mountains since 1970.
He was one of the Associate Pastors at New Beginnings Full Gospel Church, Uniontown, Pa., for 20 years.
He was also the founder of The Gospel House, Farmington, Pa.
Martin leaves to celebrate his memories, his devoted wife of 58 years, Judith L. (Figuski) and four children and spouses: Tammy Pahel Vogel (Scott) of Florida, Martin W. Anker (Wanda) of Pennsylvania Sean D. Anker (Lisa) of Pennsylvania and Ami Anker of Florida.
He will be missed by his sisters: Eileen O’Malley of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania and Cathy Johnston of North Carolina; grandchildren: Amber L. Anderson, Hilary L. Miller, Jessie L. Tissue, Cassie M. Pahel, Joshua James Oros, Stephanie Oros, Kate Oros, Martin J. Oros, and Sean T. Anker; and great grandchildren: Jackson Miller, Olivia Miller, Kole Fullem, Mina Cunningham and Hayden Cunningham, Isabella Tissue and Abrianna Tissue, and Ava Anderson.
A Memorial Service of his legacy is scheduled for Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at NEW BEGINNINGS CHURCH, 74 Pennsylvania Avenue South, Uniontown, Pa.
