Three people were shot in Uniontown early Sunday, one with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The victims, two men and a woman, were flown to Pittsburgh hospitals by medical helicopter.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Uniontown City Police Department is seeking help from the public in identifying the suspect, whose face was covered during the shooting.

“We’re really relying on the public’s help on this one,” said Lt. Tom Kolencik.

Police were called to Searight Avenue and Dunlap Street at 3:30 a.m. for a report that a man had been shot, he said. Police found one man with gunshot wounds in a doorway of a business and later located a second victim. Kolencik said the business has apartments upstairs.

The woman was taken to Uniontown Hospital by a personal vehicle before she was flown to Pittsburgh.

Police found shell casings and a semi-automatic weapon on the scene. State police processed the scene and collected evidence.

Kolencik said the identity of the man was concealed, and the victims did not identify a suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call Uniontown City Police Department at 724-430-2929 or Fayette County CrimeStoppers at 724-320-2042.
