Carmichaels man jailed after firing shots in house, police said
A Carmichaels man is in jail after he allegedly fired a gun in his house multiple times Sunday during an argument with his girlfriend.
John Clark Huey Jr., 57, of 307 E. Green St. is charged with discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, terroristic threats, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
State police said he was arguing with his girlfriend when he told her to “shut her mouth or he would shoot her,” according to court paperwork. Police allege he fired three rounds into a door of the room where they were sitting.
She left and returned at about 10:30 that night when they began arguing again, and he fired another shot into the same door while she was in a different room, police said.
Police said the neighboring houses are close and could have been hit by bullets.
He is lodged in Greene County Prison in lieu of a $50,000 bond. He faces a preliminary hearing at 2:45 p.m. Oct. 17 before Magisterial District Judge Lee Watson.
