Sylvia Shultz Core “Candy Lady”
Sylvia (Shultz) “Candy Lady” Core, 69, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 in the Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown, Pa., where she had resided for the past several years.
Born in Uniontown, Pa., on December 15, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Mike and Anna (Hidock) Shultz.
She was a member of the Outcrop Apostolic Church.
Her husband, John T. “Candy Man” Core, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 1998.
Also deceased are the following brothers and sisters: Mike Shultz, Pete Shultz, Steve Shultz, Catherine Core, Christina Burnsworth, Anna Marie Davis, Mildred Provance, and Helen Mitchell.
Surviving are her sisters: Julia Mick of Ohio and Joyce Gould of McClellandtown, Pa.; a brother, Frank Shultz of Ohio; a number of loving nieces and nephews and their families including Brenda Newman who has looked after her affairs for the past ten years.
Friends are invited to join her Family for a Memorial Service in the OUTCROP APOSTOLIC CHURCH, Smithfield, on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from Noon until 2:00 p.m., the time of Service. Private interment will be in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
