Shirley O’Hern Gearing
Shirley (O’Hern) Gearing, age 87, of Farmington, Pa., passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 in the Uniontown Hospital.
Shirley was born on November 6, 1929 in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of William and Marie (Miller) O’Hern.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Joseph P. Gearing; a daughter, Donna Gearing; and two brothers, James O’Hern and Gerald O’Hern.
She is survived by her sons: Daniel Gearing and Gary Gearing and wife Lisa; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; daughter -in-law, Linda Gearing; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shirley was a devout member of Saint Joan of Arc Church, Farmington, as well as Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, Pa.
Shirley enjoyed her card games at home with close friends.
She was a member of numerous Charitable Boards and enjoyed being around her family.
Friends will be received in the THOMAS M. DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 136 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today, October 13, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m and on Saturday, October 14, 2017 until 9:15 a.m. at which time a Prayer Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Girls Hope, 1020 West State Street, Baden, PA 15005 in Shirley’s name.
Visitation was also held Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m.
