Police: Physician’s assistant assaulted at Greene County hospital
A Rices Landing teen was arraigned Monday morning for allegedly assaulting a physician’s assistant at the Washington Health System – Greene, Thursday night.
Dawn Marie Bell, 18, is charged with aggravated assault.
She was brought to the hospital for a mental health evaluation Thursday, according to court documents.
Kari Rogers went into Bell’s room at about 8 p.m., telling her she would take her phone if she did not calm down, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed in the case.
Police said Bell threw her phone at Rogers and grabbed her by the hair when she bent over to pick it up.
Bell allegedly forced her to the wall by her hair and hit her multiple times with her hands and knees until staff members restrained her, court documents indicate.
She was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond set by Magisterial District Judge D. Glenn Bates. Bell faces a preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. Oct. 24.
