Former Republic woman sentenced for escape in federal court

By The 1 min read

A former Republic woman was sentenced to 366 days behind bars for escaping federal custody in March.

Tiffany Lilley, 38, was also ordered to serve three years of supervised release for escaping the Renewal Incorporated Community Correction Center in Pittsburgh on March 28. Federal officials said she was located and returned to custody by U.S. marshals about two weeks later.

Lilley had been held there following a prior federal felony conviction for robbing two post offices. In December 2015, Lilley was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release in that case. She was also ordered to make $440 in restitution to the U.S. Postal Service, according to court paperwork.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Adam N. Hallowell.
