Catherine Marie Bertovich Hribar “Kay”
Catherine Marie “Kay” (Bertovich) Hribar, 92, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Saturday September 16, 2017 at the Uniontown Hospital following a brief illness.
Catherine was born in Nemacolin, Pa., the daughter of Mary and Marko Bertovich and grew up in Smock, Pa.
She married Herman Hribar in 1945 and they were married 65 years before his death in 2010.
She was a graduate of Redstone High School and spent most of her working career as a Receptionist for the dental office of Dr. Anthony Krizner.
She also enjoyed jobs at French Cleaners and Hixenbaugh’s Drug Store
Catherine loved gardening in her yard and was an accomplished Seamstress. She had a passion for baking and supplied friends and family with her Holiday specialties.
She was a member of The Christian Mothers at Saint Mary’s, the Golden Club, and the Mall Walking Club.
She is survived by her son, Mark (Susan) Hribar of Benton Harbor, Michigan; brother, Steve (Betty) Bertovich of Smock, Pennsylvania; granddaughters: Madelyn (Sean) McCarthy, Newburyport Massachusetts, and Kathryn (Ryan) Slater of Harrisburg, Pa., and their mother Cindy Wood Hribar of Selinsgrove, Pa granddaughter, Susan Lawyer of Maryland; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hribar; son, David Hribar; grandson, Jimmy; and brothers, John Bertovich and Tony Bertovich.
Friends will be received in DONALD R CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD, Pa., Friday, September 22nd, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday, September 23rd, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown.
Parish Wake Service led by the Lazarus Ministries will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. followed by Prayers by The Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
