Fay Smithley Salisbury Deans
Fay Smithley Salisbury Deans, 82, of Point Marion, Pa., passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia with her loving family at her side.
Born in Point Marion, Pa., on June 29, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Sadie (Wolverton) Smithley.
A member of the Carmichaels Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness, Fay had worked for a while at Girod’s Cleaners in Masontown, Pa.
She was a skilled Seamstress, and was well known throughout the area for the beautiful clothing she could make or repair. In her spare time, she enjoyed being outside tending to her garden and flowers.
Surviving are her five children: Joyce Salisbury-Elias and Donna Salisbury- Kirkendoll both of North Carolina, Larry Salisbury and Jane Salisbury-Fitzpatrick, both of Point Marion, Pa., and Jacob Deans of Bentonville, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grand children; a brother, Paul Smithley of Alabama; and two sisters: Emma Sines and JoAnn Clark, both of Point Marion, Pa.
Her husband, Sammy B. Deans, passed away on March 15, 2005. Also deceased is a sister, Dorothy Cartwright.
Friends will be received in RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today from 6 to 9 p.m and Thursday from 10 until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Scott Shea officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Presbyterian Cemetery, Fallen Timbers Road, Point Marion, Pa.
