Transition date announced for Washington County Health Center
Control and operations of the Washington County Health Center will formally be transferred to Premier Healthcare Management LLC on Oct. 20, said Scott H. Fergus, director of administration for Washington County.
Premier Healthcare was the private operator selected by the Washington County commissioners to acquire the county health center, a 288-bed nursing home in Chartiers Township.
Commissioners approved formal agreements for the $29.6 million sale in June. Washington and Premier Healthcare officials have since been working together to finalize the transaction and fully transition to center to its new owners, Fergus said.
“We are pleased with the progress made to date, and look forward to the formal transfer of the health center,” Fergus said. “Right now, Premier is in the middle of holding its jobs fair, and as a demonstration of their commitment to this transaction, Premier has increased its nonrefundable deposit significantly. Both sides are working diligently to complete the final steps of this transaction, which will ultimately benefit the residents of Washington County for many years to come.”
Commissioners initially voted in January to begin the process of selling the county health care center, which has been operating for nearly 40 years.
