Stephen J. Utlak age 62 of Uniontown, Pa., passed away unexpectedly, Friday, March 30, 2018.

He was born May 28, 1955 in Connellsville, PA, son of the late Stephen J. and Jennie Mongelluzzo Utlak.

In addition to his parents Steve was preceded in death by is wife, Emily (Chuey) Utlak in 2012 and a sister Kathleen (Utlak) Downs in 1990.

Steve had a deep love for his family and showed his love constantly in the way he cared for them. He had a tender heart towards everyone making people know they were important to him. If you had a need, he was the first to offer his help in anyway. He cared for his wife for 30 years, who had MS, until her passing in 2012. He was Catholic by faith and attended St. Joseph’s RC Church in Uniontown. Steve loved music and playing the guitar with his friends. Following high school, Steve worked for Fruehauf Corporation as a welder and after its closing worked for Elliiot Company in Jeanette as a Master Welder and Shift Boss before retiring in 2016.

Left to cherish his memory are siblings, Mary Ann (Utlak) Fouch and husband Ronald, Russell Utlak and wife Nance, Cecelia Utlak, Jacqueline (Utlak) Wilhelm and husband George, nieces and nephews, Gregg Fouch, Lyndsay Fouch, April Downs, Christopher Downs, Stephen Utlak, James Wilhelm, Wyatt Wilhelm, and Lauren Wilhelm, and great nieces Berra Larkin, MacKenzie Fouch, Leah Wilhelm and Elyse Fouch.

There are no words to express the loss to our family. Steve will be missed beyond measure.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD, Pa, Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm and Thursday , April 5, 2018 until 9:30 am when prayers of transfer will be said followed by a funeral mass at 10 am in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment in St. John’s Byzantine Cemetery
