A man was allegedly shot in the head by a woman at about 1:50 p.m. Thursday at 398 Imel Road during a reported domestic altercation.

A man was shot in the head during a reported domestic dispute in Saltlick Township, Thursday afternoon, state police said.
Police were called to 398 Imel Road at about 1:50 p.m. for a domestic altercation which allegedly ended when a woman shot a man in the head, according to state police Lt. Steve Dowlin.
The man was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital. An update on his condition was not available before presstime. The woman was taken into custody. The names of those involved have not yet been released.
“The investigation is in infant stages at this point,” Dowlin said on the scene Thursday afternoon. “Obviously, at this point in time, we feel there is no threat to the general public.”
State police were collecting evidence at the property and conducting interviews. It was not immediately clear whether the man was shot inside or outside the home, or the details of the events that transpired before the shooting.
