Melva Rodavich Hunchuck
Melva (Rodavich) Hunchuck, 88, a lifelong resident of Masontown, Pa. passed away Tuesday April 10, 2018 at home.
She was born in Masontown, Pa., on June 14, 1929 the daughter of the late Louis and Milka (Skorich) Rodavich.
Melva was a graduate of Masontown High School, Class of 1949.
She was a member of Saint George Serbian Orthodox Church in Carmichaels, Pa., and Saint George Orthodox Circle of Serbian Sisters “KOLO”.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph P. Hunchuck; brothers, Ralph Rodavich, George Rodavich, Nick Rodavich and sisters, Elizabeth Krovocheck, Amila Posgay, Ida Bates, Josephine Craver, Ann Prica, Mildred Nychun and Dianna Michaels.
Melva was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Linda Chambers and husband Butch of Waynesburg, Pa., Mitzie Hunchuck of Masontown, Pa., Ralph Hunchuck and wife Barbie of Carmichaels, Pa., Dennis Hunchuck and wife Pam of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren: Jennifer Kornick and husband Thomas of Orlando, Florida, Joseph P. Hunchuck of Florida, Amiee M. Woodring of Princeton, North Carolina, Jason Hunchuck of Orlando, Florida, Justin Hunchuck of Dallas, Texas, David Fedor of Waynesburg, Pa.; great granddaughter Harper; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews, and one great great great niece.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Ave., Masontown, Pa., today, April 12, from 2 to 8 p.m.
Viewing will continue at the SAINT GEORGE SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH, Carmichaels, Pa., on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 12 Noon, the hour of the Funeral Service with Rev. Sasa Nedic and the Very Rev. Dr. Rodney Torbic officiating.
Pomen Service today at 7:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at Saint Mary’s Nativity Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Masontown.
