Uniontown Police looking for Walgreens robber

The Uniontown City Police Department is looking for a man they say robbed Walgreens on West Main Street, Wednesday, telling a clerk he had a gun.
Police were able to arrive almost immediately after they were called just after 7 p.m., but were unable to locate the suspect, according to Lt. Tom Kolencik.
He described the robbery as “odd” because of the location, high-traffic area and timing. Although it was daylight and many people were in the store, he said the man did not attract attention to himself — despite a bright pink shirt — and inconspicuously concealed his identity.
“He didn’t draw attention to himself and just calmly asked for money and cigarettes,” he said.
Police believe he either walked to a home or a getaway vehicle nearby, fleeing toward North Mount Vernon Avenue after the clerk gave him money and cigarettes. Kolencik said police are unsure if he had a gun or simply claimed to have one.
The suspect was wearing a pink shirt, glasses and a black beanie, he said.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or Fayette County Crime Stoppers at 724-320-2042.
