Raymond J. “Ray” Koffler, 80, Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 surrounded by his family
Ray was born July 21, 1937 in McKees Rocks, Pa., a son of the late Raymond P. Koffler and Mary M. (Spock) Koffler.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Koffler; his sister, Patty Cooley; his Uncle Joe and Aunt Leona Spock; and his Grandma Nicklow.
Ray was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army and the Army Reserve.
He was the owner and operator of Tru-Copy Printing that he established in 1966.
Ray was the Pennsylvania Division President and a National Secretary in the Izaak Walton League of America.
He was a member of the AMVETS Post 103, the Uniontown Elks Club, American Legion Post 51, Uniontown Rotary Club.
Ray was recognized by the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce with a special recognition cruise on the Gateway Clipper for his community service and professional accomplishments.
He had also served as a board member for several other organizations in the area.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golf and listening to Polka music and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Pittsburgh Penguins fan.
Above all Ray was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Mary Ann (Nicklow) Koffler; his children: Barbara Koffler Crofcheck and Chris Kolar, and Raymond J. Koffler II and his wife Kathleen; his grand children: Raegan and Ava Crofcheck, and Zackary and Ethan Koffler; brothers and sisters-in-law: John and Nancy Nicklow, Ruth Doyle, Betty Dillinger, Janet and Pete Novak, and Jeanette Koffler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., Tuesday, April 17, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, April 18, 2018 until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 50 Jefferson Street, Uniontown, Pa., with Rev. Father James D. Tringhese as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Mount Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, where Military Honors will be accorded.
