Samuel M. Knox “Jitterbug”
Samuel M. “Jitterbug” Knox, age 79, Menallen Township, Pa., passed away on Sunday, April 15 2018 at the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born on September 11, 1938 in Uniontown, Pa., son of the late Samuel Downs and Marybelle (Valentine) Knox.
Samuel served as a Police Officer for Vanderbilt, Code Officer and employee of South Union Township for 30 years as well as two terms as a Constable.
He was well known and loved for his generosity and service to his community.
Along with his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his son, Troy Alan Knox.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Martha W. (Miller) Knox son, Samuel Eric Knox; daughter, Cherrie Gail Duritsky; daughter, Roxanne Adams; daughter, Kimberly Sue Knox; son, Greg Knox; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Marylee Taylor; brother, Larry Eugene Knox; sister, Karen Lint; sister, Rosie Augustine.
Friends will be received at the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., today, April 18, and Thursday, April 19, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where a Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Buzz Hall will officiate.
Interment to follow in Salem View Cemetery.
