Violet M. (Leslie) Nichols, 91, of Uniontown Pa., and formerly of the Lake Lynn, Pa., area unexpectedly passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at her home.

Born February 3, 1927 in Uniontown, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Nellie (Kidwell) Leslie.

She was a faithful member of Connellsville Street Church of Christ, and formerly attended the Oak Grove Church of Christ near Point Marion.

Violet was employed in Retail Sales for many years having working in Uniontown at the Campbell-Hathaway Shoe Store, The Barre Room dance supplies, and at JoAnn Fabrics.

She loved to sing in the church choirs and watch the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Winter Olympics.

In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and working puzzles.

Surviving are her son, David Nichols of Lake Lynn, Pa.; a daughter, Janet Steppenbacker of Lodi, Ohio; nine grand children including Jason D. Nichols, whom she adored and cared for as her own; 20 great-grand children; 11 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine Martin of Washington, Pa.; brother, Joseph Leslie of Wesley Springs, West Virginia.

Her husband, Thomas F. Nichols, passed away on April 3, 1975.

Also deceased are a daughter Patricia Nichols Mansfield; and several brothers and sisters.

Friends will be received in RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, 501 Morgantown Street, Point Marion, Pa., Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, April 20 until 11:00 a.m., the hour of Service with her Pastor, David Watson, officiating.

Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Connellsville Street Church of Christ, 519 Connellsville Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.
