A Point Marion man was arrested for allegedly holding a rifle to his cousin’s head and threatening to kill her when she went to his house to collect her uncle’s ashes.

Tyler Jordan Lanko, 20, of 124 Wilson Lane is charged with misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats and a summary count of harassment in the case.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, Ashley Weakland went to his home for the ashes, and she and Lanko began arguing at about 10 p.m. She told police the fight was about an alleged altercation between Lanko’s girlfriend and Weakland’s son earlier this year. He allegedly took a black long rifle and pointed it between her eyes, saying, “I will end your life!” She then fled the Springhill Township residence, and spoke to state police at about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday.

State police interviewed Lanko at about 2 a.m., who reportedly admitted an altercation occurred, but denied brandishing a rifle.

He was arraigned at 6 a.m. Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino Jr., who set bail at $25,000. Lanko was released from Fayette County Prison later that day after bail was posted on his behalf. His preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for 9 a.m. May 1 before Defino.
