Gail Rittenour Metts

Gail (Rittenour) Metts, 90, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Spenser and Debbie Metts of Smithfield, Pa., with her loving family at her side.
She was born in Greensburg in Westmoreland County, Pa., on September 27, 1927 a daughter of the now late Russell and Flosie Rittenour.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Metts on March 11, 2014.
She was a Protestant by faith and had many church affiliation through the years.
Gail had worked in retail at Murphy’s 5 & 10 years ago.
She was one of the founders of the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary and was very active in the Smithfield Community for many years.
Gail enjoyed her many friends, bowling, and playing darts. She had a passion for travel and visited all the United States with the exception of Alaska.
Left to cherish her memory, in addition to her son and daughter-in -law, are grandson, Matthew Myers and wife Doreen; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins.
The family expresses their heartfelt Thanks to the team at Dr. Pluto’s office and Medi Hospice for their loving care. A very special thank you to Cindy, Deanna, Barb and Donna who were always there when needed.
The family will receive friends in the JOHN F. BROWNFIELD FUNERAL HOME of Smithfield, Pa., on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. where Services will be conducted Wednesday May 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Joshua Boyd officiating.
Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
