Shirley Mae (Rankin) Wood, 76, of Woodside, Smithfield, Pa., passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 with her loving family by her side.

She was born July 10, 1942 at White Rock, Georges Township, Pa., the daughter of Clarence Victor Rankin and Catherine (Hart) Rankin.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Lloyd Wood; son, Michael Wood; brother, Rodney “Paul” Rankin; sisters, Joycelyn Estelle “Phil” Stanley, Shelba “Jean” Tressler.

Surviving are her son, Lloyd Wood and wife Tami Wood; daughter-in -law, Darlene Wood; grandchildren: Jeremy Mills, Megan Wood, Jessica Barkley and husband Russ Barkley, Zachary Wood, Kelsey Fischer and husband Zach Fischer; great grandchildren: Gabriella Hudson and Paisley Fischer; brother, Donald Wayne “Donnie” Rankin and wife Charlotte Rankin; sister-in-law, Kathryn Wood; and many nieces and nephews.

She was a faithful Christian and an avid genealogist.

Shirley loved the beach, baking, camping with her family and really looked forward to her six o’clock phone call from her brother.

The family will greet friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m and Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 9 until 10 a.m. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Kenneth Walls officiating.

Interment follows in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa.
