Stanley E. Van Voorhis, 67, of Beallsville, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 5 2018. Most people may know Stanley by some of his colorful nick names, “Buddy”, “Stush” or his CB handle “Volksie”.

He was born December 9, 1950 in Brownsville, Pa., son of the late Isaac R. “Bob” and Lena B. (Marks) Van Voorhis.

Stanley was a 1971 graduate of Beth-Center High School.

He was employed by the Beallsville Cemetery with 50 years of service.

Mr. Van Voorhis was a 48-year member of the Richeyville Volunteer Fire Department.

He was also a CB Radio operator.

He enjoyed fixing small engines and mowers, collecting tools, cruising in his cars, stopping to see family and friends. He also cared for his older brother and would help anyone in need.

Surviving are a brother Robert “Ray” Van Voorhis and a sister Twila Settles (Richard) both of Beallsville, Pa.; two nephews: Robert Copechal (Sheralee) of Washington, Pa., Grant McClelland (Allison) of Beallsville, Pa.; great nieces and great nephews Taylor, Conner, Isaac, Vivian; step great nieces and great nephews: Eli and Harper; many special aunts, uncles and cousins including Dave and Janet Van Voorhis and aunt Margaret Sheets; two very special friends: Gary Gizzi and Mary Arnold.

Friends will be received in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, Pa., today 4 to 8 p.m. where Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

A Fireman’s Service will be held in funeral home today at 7:00 p.m.

Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contribution be made to the Beallsville Cemetery Association, Post Office Box 240, Beallsville, PA 15313, the Richeyville Volunteer Fire Department, Post Office Box L, Richeyville, PA 15358 or the Mon Valley Hospital Radiology/ Oncology Department, 1163 Country Club Road Monongahela, PA 15063.
