Orientation slated
The Albert Gallatin Area School District will hold kindergarten orientation for all kindergarten students at 9:30 a.m., Aug. 15, at each elementary school in the district.
Enrollment day set
Westmoreland County Community College will hold an Xpress Enrollment Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Aug. 18, at its Youngwood campus and centers in Indiana, Latrobe, Murrysville, New Kensington and Uniontown for new and returning students to register for classes, which start Aug. 16 for the 15-week semester and Sept. 6 for the 12-week semester. New students can receive assistance completing a free admission application and scheduling classes. FAFSA workshops will be held at the Youngwood campus only. Uniontown HOF set to induct
The sixth class of the Uniontown Area High School Academics, Arts and Athletics Hall of Fame will be inducted at a banquet at 10 a.m., Sept. 1, at Uniontown Area High School. Twelve individuals and one athletics team will be honored. Inductees will be introduced at the home football game Aug. 31; a tailgate party will be held at the football stadium beginning at 5 p.m.
The Hall of Fame program was established in 2013 to recognize and honor individuals who have distinguished themselves through outstanding accomplishments or contributions in academics, arts or athletics. Jefferson-Morgan School District will hold a fall craft and vendor show in the high school gymnasium from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 6. Anyone interested in being a seller at the event should contact jfulks@jmsd.org for an application as soon as possible.
