Thelma Baker, affectionately called “Momma”, age 90, was born in Brownsville, Pa., on Saturday, March 31, 1928. She was called home to be with God on Sunday, August 19, 2018.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Ella Smith and Aston Land; brothers, William Albert “Billy” Baker and John “Juney” Lewis Smith Jr.; and sisters, Dolores “Poochie” Jean Smith and Patricia Ann Smith.

Thelma Baker was the sister to Richard Smith, Charles Smith, Gary Smith and Lavern Smith.

She was a very faithful member of Mount Zion AME Church where she served on the Stewardess Board on the Dora E. West Missionary Society.

She leaves to celebrate her life her only daughter Betty Shearer of Buffalo, New York; grandchildren Patricia Powell (Karl) of Florida, Thelma Lavern Swell of Uniontown, Pa., Cynthia Jones (Dana) of Locus Grove, Georgia, Toni Shaw (Clifton) of Buffalo, New York, Leeann Williams of Cheektowaga, New York, Eltimice Shearer, Kimya Shearer, Diana Shearer, Nathaniel Shearer, Danielle Shearer, Tiarra Shearer all of Buffalo, New York; a host of great grandchildren; brothers: Richard Smith of Annapolis, Maryland, Charles Smith of Monessen, Pa., Gary Smith of Brownsville, Pa; sister, Lavern Smith of Monessen, Pa.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
