Harry E. Ramage
Harry E. Ramage, 75, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at home with his loving wife and son by his side. He lost a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born March 17, 1942 in Leckrone, Pa.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. Ramage and Marguerite (Ewart) Ramage Shuttleworth; son, Barry Ramage; brother, Charles Ramage and step-father, Edward Shuttleworth.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Sharon (Hunter) Ramage; son, Rob Hunter, and grand daughter, Victoria Lynn “Tori”, whom he adored, both of Lexington, South Carolina; son, Vernon Ramage of Smithfield, Pa., and grandsons, Justin, Keith and Harry; son, Brian Ramage of Uniontown, Pa., and grandchildren, Thomas and Gloria; sister-in-law, Cheryl Groover of Smithfield, Pa.; siblings: Delores Brown of Uniontown, Pa., Doris Walk of Uniontown Pa., Dana Gregor of Uniontown, Pa., George Ramage and wife Betty of Uniontown, Pa., and Norman Ramage and wife Mary Ann of Penn Craft, Pa.; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Deneen Peluso.
Harry was employed for many years with Malsbury Manufacturing in Uniontown, Pa., and retired from Cavert Wire in Uniontown, Pa.
It was Harry’s request that there be no public viewing but the family will greet friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Monday, February 12, from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will begin at 5:00 p.m. Pastor Norman Walk will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Harry’s memory may be made to the UPMC Cancer Center or Amedisys Hospice both in Uniontown, Pa., or a charity your choice.
The family thank the UPMC Cancer Center, Dr. Lijun Dai and her wonderful staff, and Amedisys Hospice in Uniontown — especially Mary Ann Chury and very special nurse, Darla Dowling.
