A former Long John Silver’s employee was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly robbing a woman at knife point who was leaving the South Union Township restaurant with cash to make a routine bank deposit Feb. 8.

Isaiah Michael Stevens, 28, of Front Street in Dunbar is charged with three counts of robbery and one count each of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, Yvonne Ramsey had just gotten into her car in the parking lot with cash in her purse when Stevens allegedly shoved her into the vehicle and demanded her purse. She told police she struggled with Stevens until she realized he had a knife. He then allegedly took the purse and ran from the scene.

Police said her right thumb was cut during the struggle.

State police issued an arrest warrant for Stevens immediately following the reported robbery. He was taken into custody and arraigned at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Jennifer Jeffries.

According to court documents, he recently failed to appear in court to face charges of accidents involving death or personal injury and accidents involving property damage. Jeffries changed the bail amount in that case from $5,000 unsecured to $10,000 monetary at a bail hearing at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday.

Jeffries set his bail at $75,000 in the robbery case. He remains in the Fayette County lockup in lieu of bond.
