West Newton man charged for inappropriately touching a 15-year-old girl
Charges were filed against a West Newton man after he allegedly inappropriately touched a 15-year-old girl while at a party.
Michael Anthony Rozzo, 31, of 2 Collingate Drive was charged with aggravated indecent assault, corruption of a minor and indecent assault on Feb. 15.
The charges stem from an incident in Sewickley Township on Jan. 14 where a witness told Greensburg State Police that Rozzo arrived at a party with his wife, but later in the evening, Rozzo took his wife home and returned to the party.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, a 15-year-old girl was sleeping on her bed along with three of her friends around 1 a.m. when Rozzo entered the bedroom.
Rozzo picked up the girl and moved her to her brother’s unoccupied bed where he asked the girl if she was a virgin, which the girl answered she was.
The complaint states that Rozzo told her that he didn’t believe she was a virgin, that sex was fun and she should do it. The girl then stood up and returned to her room and back to bed.
Rozzo allegedly followed her to the bedroom, lifted the sheet with which the girl used to cover and inappropriately touched her between her legs until another adult entered the room.
The other adult told police that he and Rozzo told the girl’s father they would get the children when he asked where the kids were; the other adult said he briefly stopped in the kitchen while Rozzo continued to the room without him.
He told police when he continued to the room, he saw Rozzo standing next to the girl as she was lying in bed, but didn’t see Rozzo’s hand because the blanket was covering it.
Rozzo is scheduled to be arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Charles Christner at 10 a.m. Feb. 21.
