Uniontown woman charged with statutory sexual assault
A Uniontown woman is behind bars after she allegedly forced a young boy to touch her inappropriately.
Elizabeth Marie Childs, 33, is charged with statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children, indecent assault and indecent assault of a person less than 16.
Police received a report Tuesday night from the father of the boy, who reported an incident happened in Fairchance a few days before. He said Childs put the boy on her lap and forced him to touch her inappropriately. The next day, she allegedly attempted to force the child to touch her again, but he shoved her away, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed in her case.
The boy’s age was not released in court documents.
Uniontown Police interviewed Childs, Tuesday night.
She reportedly told them the boy touched her voluntarily, and did not touch her under her underwear.
Charges were filed Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. Shimshock. She is lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $7,500 bond.
Her preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Jan. 24.
