Walsh to hold concealed carry seminar
State Rep. Justin Walsh, R-Rostraver, is sponsoring a concealed firearms seminar to give residents an opportunity to learn about the state’s concealed carry laws and the Castle Doctrine.
The seminar will be held on Thursday, Jan. 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Turkeytown Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall, 90 Supervisors Drive, West Newton.
“I’m pleased to be able to offer another concealed carry seminar so residents of our district can have their questions answered regarding Pennsylvania’s concealed carry laws and the Castle Doctrine,” Walsh said. “If you have not had a chance to attend this event in the past, I urge you to consider coming. Even if you are not a firearm owner, the information provided is helpful for everyone.”
Scheduled speakers include Kim Stolfer, president of Firearm Owners Against Crime; and Westmoreland County Sheriff Jonathan Held. The Westmoreland County Mobile Unit also will be available to issue new and renew gun permits to Westmoreland County residents at least 21 years old. Valid photo identification and $20 in cash or check are required.

Walsh’s legislative district includes Jeannette and Monessen cities, as well as East Huntingdon (part), Hempfield (part), Rostraver, Sewickley and South Huntingdon townships. Also, the district encompasses the boroughs of Adamsburg, Arona, Madison, Mount Pleasant, North Belle Vernon, Penn, Smithton, Sutersville and West Newton.
