Stephen J. Markulik, 51, of Carmichaels, Pa., unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in his home.

He was born December 29, 1966 in Washington D.C., a son of James and Boots (King) Markulik.

Stephen was a 1985 graduate of Parkview High School, Sterling, Virginia.

He worked most recently for Waynesburg University as a Cook, Hot Rods House of BBQ, Waynesburg, Pa., and a Licensed Practical Nurse at Mount Saint Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa.

Stephen was a lively, charitable person who enjoyed helping others.

Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, Todd Markulik and wife Christine of Mount Airy, Maryland; a sister, Susan Hagler and husband Steven of Melbourne, Australia; four nephews: Daniel Markulik and wife Irene, Cal Markulik, Ben Markulik, Taylor Hagler and his fiance*, Nicole; two nieces: Nikki Hagler and Stephanie Hagler; one great niece; and three great nephews.

Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 in the YOSKOVICH FUNERAL HOME, (724.966.5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa., where a Blessing Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.

A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels, Pa. with Rev. Father John M. Bauer as the Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery.

A Vigil Service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 6:00 p.m.
