A Perryopolis man is behind bars after he allegedly stabbed his daughter’s boyfriend after reportedly waking up in a drunken rage.

Mark Steven Manack, 58, of 10 Washington Mills was charged Friday with two counts each of aggravated assault and simple assault and one count of reckless endangerment.

Manack reportedly claimed to Perryopolis Police he was defending himself.

The victim, Quamel Kenion, was rushed to Uniontown Hospital by his girlfriend Megan Manack, where he was treated for a puncture wound on his abdomen and a scratch from his chest to the puncture. He was stabbed with a 4- to 5-inch blade, according to court paperwork.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, Manack’s wife, Victoria Manack, said her husband was asleep on his recliner after drinking when the couple came home and went to her bedroom at about 4:30 p.m.

She said her husband acts aggressively when drinking. She alleged he woke up, got a knife from the kitchen and went into his daughter’s bedroom. Megan Manack ran out screaming, saying, “He stabbed Quamel,” she reported. Mark Manack had a scratch on his forearm, which his wife said was from Kenion trying to get Manack off him so he could go to the hospital. He declined treatment for the scratch.

Perryopolis Police interviewed the defendant, who quoted him as saying, “He’s a big 200-, 300-, 600-pound black guy. He came at me. So I got a knife from the kitchen and fought back.”

Manack was arraigned Friday night by on-call Magisterial District Judge Ronald Haggerty Jr., who set bail at $10,000. He remains in Fayette County Prison in lieu of bond.
