Ross Paul Rock Morrell
Ross Paul Rock, 64, of Morrell, passed away peacefully Saturday June 30, 2018 from lung cancer in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg.
He was born August 20, 1953 in Connellsville, a son of the late Paul and Virginia (Pierce) Rock. Ross was a graduate of Connellsville High School Class of 1971. Ross retired from TA Nelson Bus Lines. He was the acting Fire Chief of Morrell Volunteer Fire Company, and an active Deputy Coroner for Fayette County. For over 30 years Ross was an EMT, having worked for several ambulance services. He also had over 20 years as an EMA Coordinator for Dunbar Twp. Ross enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, working on cars and trucks, and Mopar enthusiast. He also shared his wisdom with future firefighters.
Ross is survived by his wife of 46 years, Brenda J. (Hatter) Rock, 6 children; Andrea Rock Adenhart and husband James of Mt. Braddock, Paul Rock and wife Carol of Dunbar, Heather Rock Bolish and husband Jeff of Dunbar, Michael Rock and wife Jennise of Connellsville, Christopher Rock and wife Samantha of Bullskin Twp., and David Rock and wife Brittany of Dunbar, grandchildren; Kolbie, Justin, Kessa, Kerringtin, Tyler, Jacob, and Makayla, a sister; Paula Rock Sharps and husband Jim, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME on Thursday from 4-8PM, Friday from 1-4 and 6-8PM, and Saturday from 9AM-9:30AM the time of service with Fr. Bob Lubic and Pastor Lee Maley co-celebrating. Interment will follow in St. Rita Cemetery. Members of Morrell Volunteer Fire Department will hold a ritual in the funeral home Friday at 7PM.
