By The 1 min read

Police in California, Washington County alleged that a Coal Center man got upset over noise during a July 4 picnic, pointing a handgun at someone in attendance.

Borough police alleged Marquell Atkinson, 41, went over to a home on Pike Run Drive around 8 p.m. to complain about the level of noise.

“During the confrontation, Atkinson produced a firearm and pointed it at the victim,” police wrote.

Atkinson was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, reckless endangerment, terroristic threats and simple assault.

He was arraigned and released on a $25,000 unsecured bond, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 23 before Magisterial District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
