James R. Huntley Jr. “Jimmy”
James R. Huntley Jr., “Jimmy”, lost his courageous battle with cancer and passed away at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts on July 4, 2018 with his mother and father by his side.
He was born May 25, 1973, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of James R. Huntley Sr. and Cheryl (Douglas) Huntley.
Jimmy graduated from Laurel Highlands High School, Class of 1991, where he played basketball and golf.
He then attended Bethany College, Class of 1995, where he also played basketball and golf, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Jimmy played for HARC baseball for ten years.
He was employed by Baker Corporation of Swedesboro, New Jersey as the Sales Manager.
Jimmy’s passion in life was saving dogs. He volunteered at a number of shelters and helped transport dogs to new homes. Closest to his heart included Sassy, Mr. Bullet, Baxter, Ernie and his “Number One Girl,” his beloved Cranberry.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Jamie Lynn Huntley of Baden, Pa.; uncles: Ronnie (Paulette) Douglas of Wooster, Ohio, Barry (Denise) Douglas of Greensburg, Pa., Jeffrey (Denise) Douglas of Matthews, North Carolina, Brian (Sharon) Douglas of Belle Vernon, Pa., Jay Huntley of Uniontown, Pa.; aunts: Joy Huntley (Scott) of Longwood, Florida and Jan Zarella of Smithfield, Pa. He is also survived by many loving cousins. Jimmy had numerous friends that held a special place in his heart including Chancey Hagerty, Ed Morgan, Mike Manganaro, Paul Manganaro, Greg Dziubek, Jim Wood, Lee Bierer, Bill Martin and Susan Herr.*
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pennsylvania where the family will receive friends today, Monday, July 9, 2018 from 10 to 11 a.m. with a Service celebrating Jimmy’s life at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Patty Roddy and Reverend Art Mace officiating.
Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
Visitation was also held on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 2 to 8 p.m.
