Southmoreland lunches
Summer food service will be offered at various locations within the Southmoreland School District to provide free meals to individuals age 18 and under.
Meals will be served Monday to Friday at the following locations and times: Loucks Park (Scottdale), 11 a.m.-noon; Everson Centennial Park, 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.; Regional Family YMCA, 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.; Frick Park (Mount Pleasant), noon-1 p.m.; Huntingdon Village Apartments, 12:15-1:15 p.m.
The following is the lunch menu for the week beginning July 16: Monday, French toast sticks, sausage patty, sidewinder potatoes, strawberries, milk. Tuesday, nachos grande w/salsa, steamed corn, applesauce cup, milk. Wednesday, pasta w/meat sauce, garlic breadstick, steamed broccoli, fruit cup, milk. Thursday, turkey and cheese wrap w/lettuce, peas and carrots, blueberry pudding parfait, milk. Friday, hot dog on bun, baked beans, mini chips, chilled pears, milk.
Destination Day set
California University of Pennsylvania will hold a Destination Day from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Aug. 3, in Dixon Hall, room 312, for college students considering a transfer to the university. Students will receive free transcript evaluation, information and support, and orientation scheduling. All services are free and the university will waive the application fee for students who apply that day. To register, visit online at www.calu.edu/transfer. Walk-ins are accepted.
