Man wanted in burglary captured after brief chase
A man who allegedly broke in to a Henry Clay Township home where a young girl was home alone June 28 was arrested Tuesday after a brief foot chase.
State police received information Tuesday morning Ryan Thomas Krysak, 31, of Confluence was in the area of 500 Dunbar Ohiopyle Road.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case, Krysak turned away when troopers spotted him. Police chased him after he allegedly jumped over a guide rail and ran into the woods about 100 to 150 yards, ignoring commands to stop. He surrendered after police threatened to use a taser on him.
A warrant was issued for his arrest June 29. He was also wanted for failing to appear in court, according to court paperwork. He is awaiting his preliminary hearing for a second burglary he allegedly committed Jan. 11 in Wharton Township.
In the June burglary, he allegedly broke into a Sugar Loaf Road at about 11:30 a.m. home with a 14-year-old girl inside. She called 911 saying a man was in her house, ran to her bedroom and sat at the base of the door to prevent him from coming inside.
Krysak was arraigned in that case Tuesday afternoon before Magisterial District Judge Richard A. Kasunic II, who set bail at $30,000.
His bail in the January burglary case was increased from $20,000 to $40,000.
He is facing a new charge of flight to avoid apprehension. Bail was set at $30,000 in that case.
