Karen Rae (Smith) Hart, 69, of Coplay, Pa., formerly of Haydentown, Pa., passed away at her home Saturday, February 17, 2018. She was born in Uniontown, Pa., on April 11, 1948 daughter of Samuel “Ray” Smith Sr. and Dolores Ruth (Stone) Smith.

Karen was predeceased by her father and three brothers Chester, Darwin, Alan.

Karen was a 1967 graduate of Fairchance- Georges Senior High School. After graduation she moved to Washington D.C., where she met and married her husband of 49 years, Dale Hart.

She was a graduate of the Bucknell School of Banking and became the Assistant Vice-President of Wells Fargo Bank in Whitehall, Pa., for 32 years before retiring.

She was a judge for the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant, a member of the Coplay Parkway Board and a secretary for the Leigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Left to cherish Karen’s memory are her husband and mother; daughters: Lori Covell and husband Gregory of Coaldale, Pa., and Lisa and her fiance Rick Decker of Poconos; grandchildren Rhyannon, Joshua, Jeremi; sisters: Vivian Smith, Judy Kennison and husband Daniel of Haydentown, Pa., Rhonda Horan and fiance Lou Conte, Connie Barnes and fiance George Powell of Uniontown, Pa., Janice Benyak and husband David of South Windsor, Connecticut; and brothers: Gary and wife Nancy, Robert and Jeffrey of Haydentown, Pa., Lawrence and fiancee Sharon Barton of Smithfield, Pa., and Samuel “Ray” and wife Christy of Wynn, Pa.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service in Karen’s honor on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Haydentown Christian Church, 267 Haydentown Hill Road, Haydentown, Pa. The Reverend James Handschumaker will officiate the services.
