State police are working to identify a man who held a knife to a Sunoco clerk’s throat during a Wharton Township robbery early Sunday.

The robber, who was wearing a zombie mask, jumped across the counter at about 1:45 a.m. at 4142 National Pike, demanding money as he threatened the cashier with a five-inch blade, according to state police.

“Give me the (expletive) money, man,” police quoted him as saying, adding that he concluded nearly every sentence with “man.”

He stole $245 from the register and fled on foot east along U.S. 40 (National Pike), according to police.

He was described as a white male with a thin build, approximately 200 pounds and 6-feet 5-inches to 6-feet 6-inches tall, wearing a blue hoodie with the hood up and a zombie mask, black and white gloves, black jogger-type sweatpants and black shoes with white soles.

The cashier is a 29-year-old man from Confluence.

Anyone with information is asked to called State Police Uniontown at 724-439-7111 or Fayette County Crime Stoppers at 724-320-2042.
