Rudolph G. Kochis
Rudolph G. KOCHIS, age 76 years of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He was born August 31, 1941 in Uniontown, PA, son of Rudolph John Kochis and Mary Latsko Kochis, both deceased. In addition, he was predeceased by his high school sweetheart and loving wife Carole Shimshock Kochis in 1993 and his Sister-In-Law, Delores Puscian Shimshock.
Rudy was a Graduate of German Township High School Class of 1959. As a teenager in high school, he worked a summer in the tobacco fields of Connecticut. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. AIR FORCE, completing a tour of duty in Korea. He was a member of the American Legion Post 51, Uniontown. Following his military tour, he worked for Fayette Bank and at First Federal Savings and Loan of Greene County. He then worked for Rockwell International as a Supervisor, retiring after 30 plus years of service. Rudy was a member of St. Mary’s Nativity R.C. Church, Uniontown.
Rudy is survived by his loyal and loving Son, Rudolph Charles Kochis and wife Ashley (Thorpe) Kochis of Uniontown; Grandsons, Andrew and Alex Kochis; Granddaughter, Carole Ann Kochis; Brother, Thomas Kochis and wife Karen of Uniontown; Brother-In- Law, Charles Shimshock; Nieces and Nephews, Kathy, Cindy, Robyn, Danny, and C.J.
At Rudy’s request, there will be no public visitation. Private family visitation will be held, followed by a graveside service with Pastor Frank Todaro officiating, and interment in Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by the General George C. Marshall Amvets Post 103, Hopwood, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the H. DAVID MCELROY FUNERAL HOME, 803 MAIN STREET, MCCLELLANDTOWN, PA.
