Marion J. Dean
Marion J. Dean, 89, a lifelong resident of of Vanderbilt, Pa., died on Friday, June 1, 2018 at his home.
Born on Friday, December 21, 1928 in Franklin Township, Fayette County, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry M. and Margaret (Riggin) Dean.
Mr. Dean was a member of the Flatwoods Baptist Church.
Marion started his career at Farmer’s Dairy, worked for PennDOT as an Assistant Superintendent, and later served as Fayette County Republican Jury Commissioner.
He was active in the Flatwoods Volunteer Fire Department, served 37 years on the Bowman- Flatwoods Cemetery Board, was an active member in the Fayette County Republican party, and served as a former Franklin Township Supervisor.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Penny Dean; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Sharon Hill, Janet and Mark Trees, Carol and Jeff Hinson all of Vanderbilt; brother and sister-in-law, James Marshall Dean and Clarice Dean of Yuma, Arizona; sister, Mary Olla Fencil of Scottdale, Pa.; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice (Martin) Dean on August 11, 2001; a grandson, Ben Trees; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held today from 2 to 8 p.m. at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 191 LIBERTY Street, PERRYOPOLIS, PA 15473 (724.736.2515).
Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations with Pastor Darrel Evans of the Flatwoods Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will take place in the Bowman- Flatwoods Cemetery.
Visitation was also held Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.
