Warrants issued for three involved in West Newton robbery, assault
Arrest warrants were issued for three people following an alleged robbery and assault of a West Newton woman over the weekend.
Charges were filed against Noah Lee, 20, Ariana Rochelle Carter, 25, both of 570 Fritz Henry Road, Smithton, and Justa H. Couson, 18, of 130 E. Main St., West Newton, before Magisterial District Judge Charles Christner on Monday.
According to West Newton Police, Michelle Theys called the police at 9 p.m. Saturday to report several people robbed and harassed her at her residence along East Main Street.
Theys told police that Carter and Coulson were in front of her porch around 6 p.m. and asked her if she could lend them gas money, as Lee drove them to West Newton, but ran out of gas.
When Theys returned to the porch to give them money, Carter allegedly struck Theys in the face and forcibly took her wallet.
Carter removed $523 from the wallet and then both women took Theys’ wallet, dumped the contents in the middle of Main Street and fled the scene with Lee.
Theys told the police that Carter told her if she tried to retrieve her wallet from the street, they would assault her and made other statements including they were going to rob everyone that night and also rob Theys every time they had a chance.
Theys told police that she looked outside her residence the night before the robbery and saw Lee’s white Honda Civic parked outside.
Police observed a red bruise on Theys’ face and noticed she was visibly shaken, but she refused medical attention.
Arrest warrants were issued for the three people involved, all of which were charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and stalking with Carter charged with robbery, harassment and terroristic threats; Coulson charged with harassment and terroristic threats and Lee charged with stalking and robbery.
