Body found at Ohiopyle along river

By The 1 min read

The body of a man was discovered by hikers Sunday afternoon in Ohiopyle along the middle Youghiogheny River, officials said.

An autopsy was scheduled Monday afternoon to determine his identity and how he died.

There was no indication on the scene of what caused the man’s death or what he had been doing on the river, according to Ohiopyle State Park Manager Kenneth Bisbee. He said it appeared his body became lodged during high water and entangled in trees.

State police are investigating.
