John M. Antoon

John M. Antoon, age 66 passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 15, 2018 after a bravely fought battle with cancer.

He was born in Uniontown, Pa., on Sunday, August 12, 1951 son of Theodore and Mary (Paloycik) Antoon.

His parents and beloved daughter, Tera Lynne Antoon, preceded him in death.

John owned and operated the family business Teddy’s Bar and Grill on Pittsburgh Street until it closed in 2006.

In his youth, he loved to ski, so advanced that he skied the French Alps and also Aspen, Colorado

He also enjoyed fishing and cooking, watching basketball and football games on TV. He had quite the green thumb and grew wonderful tomatoes, something that he and his son John enjoyed together.

He was a great Dad, and had a warm and generous soul.

He will be deeply missed by his family, and many friends, especially at the Kolencik Service Station where he was an unofficial member of their filling station.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, John M. Antoon II at home and Lindsay Fields of Uniontown, Pa., both who lovingly cared for John; very special sister -in-law, Laurey Page Micarelli and husband Carl of Uniontown, Pa.; sister, Rosemary Antoon of Ruther Glen, Virginia; brothers: Joseph Antoon and wife Barbara of Uniontown, Pa., Teddy Antoon and wife Gloria of Hopwood, Pa.; numerous nieces and nephews and their families; and his sweet pet cat, “Kitty”.

The family expresses their thanks to the Amedisys Hospice Team, especially Darla Dowling, for their outstanding care and compassion.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., Tuesday, March 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. when a Celebration of His Life will be officiated by Pastor Michael Lyons.

Interment will be private at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa

In lieu of other tributes, please make contributions in John’s memory to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
