Jeraldine Tignanelli Mazza
Jeraldine (Tignanelli) Mazza, born September 19, 1929 in Bunola, Pa., was known for her watchful eye. From raising four rowdy children and three grand children, supervising a den of Cub Scouts, to keeping Fayette County’s politicians honest, Jerrie was a strong and influential woman.
Her marriage to Ralph A. Mazza Sr. on May 24, 1952 lasted 62 years, until his death in 2014.
Jerrie was also predeceased by her parents, Anthony Tignanelli and Catherine (Novakowski) Tignanelli, and her brother, Andrew Tignanelli.
She is survived by her son, Ralph A. Mazza Jr. and his wife Liz, daughter, Michele Clayton and her husband James Clayton, daughter Melanie Phillips and her husband Jeffrey Phillips, and son, Richard Mazza and his wife Patricia. “Mimi” is survived by granddaughter Katie Phillips and her partner Joshua Hurley, grandson Jacob Phillips and his partner Kelly Prokop, and granddaughter Keli Mazza and her fiance Edward Sharazi. Also surviving her are sister Acquilla Nagy, brother Francis Tignanelli, brother Joseph Tignanelli, sister Sandra Russell, niece Carol Tignanelli, and many other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 South First St., West Side, Connellsville, (724.628.9033) Thursday, May 17, from 4 to 7 p.m.
A Blessing Service will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Rita Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel J. Ulishney as the Celebrant.
Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pa.
