Preliminary hearings 5-20-18
Several preliminary hearings were held this week in Fayette County. The results include:
John F. Bender III, 22, of Pittsburgh waived two counts of aggravated assault by vehicle and four counts of recklessly endangering another person to the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas for allegedly causing a wreck with injuries by driving 70 miles per hour on Chaintown Road in Lower Tyrone Township July 19. Frontseat passenger John-Michael Sumey suffered major injuries including broken bones and ruptured organs. Backseat passenger Alexa Leonard suffered broken bones and a hole in her long, according to police. Bender is free from Fayette County Prison after posting $20,000 bond.
